Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Embedded content

Email list and free downloads
When you ask for one of the free checklists, you enter your email address in a form on this site. We use that address for two things: to send you the file you asked for, and to send occasional emails about Australian property, planning and development.
Our email list runs on Kit (kit.com), an email marketing service operated from the United States. Your email address is stored on Kit’s servers, which means it is held overseas. Kit processes it on our behalf. You can read their privacy policy at kit.com/privacy.
We ask you to confirm your address by clicking a link before we send anything. Nobody is added to the list without that confirmation. We do not buy, sell, rent or share email addresses with anyone else.
Every email carries an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing takes effect immediately and stops all future emails. If you would rather have your address deleted than simply unsubscribed, email contact@australiadevelops.com.au and we will remove it.
We keep your email address for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we stop sending you email immediately and keep a record of the address only so that you are not contacted again by mistake. If you ask us to delete the address altogether, we remove it within 30 days of your request.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely so we can recognise and approve follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
What rights you have over your data
If you have left comments on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, or request that we erase any personal data we hold about you, subject to any data we are obliged to retain for administrative, legal or security purposes.
